Jackson's Art & Music Show

Today we had Jackson's Kindergarten Art & Music show.  It's amazing how much this class has learned about famous artists and composers.  We arrived early to look at all the children's "masterpieces" (as Jackson called them) in the art "gallery."  I was in awe of the pieces these 5 year olds had created...truly amazing!  Once we were asked to take our seats, the children performed some of the songs they've learned during music class this year, one of which was from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.  They used bells and drums too.  They've learned about notes and their "names" and "rhythms," whole notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes (this is taking me back to my singing and instrument playing days....).

Here's some of Jackson's artwork:

Jackson Pollock...ironic, huh?

Jackson named his painting with the help of a local artist.

Jackson is VERY proud of his artwork.
This piece hangs on the wall right over his bed (his location choice).

Jackson is ecstatic about this upcoming weekend!  He is going on a spend the night weekend with his good buddy, Sterling.  He can hardly contain himself!  It's so, so cute!
