...Bring May Flowers, Gymnists and Ballerinas

Why is May the busiest month of the year?  I think it's becoming busier than even December. (Imagine that?!?!) As I look back through the pictures from May, I'm realizing why it's the busiest month of the year.  From a gymnastics performance to a dance recital to real school winding down to Mother's Day to Daddy's birthday to preschool ending to Memorial Day....it makes me tired to even (re) think about it!  WOW!

The first performance of the month was Eliza's gymnastics performance.  Eliza loved going to gymnastics weekly.  She has better balance than I do!

Happy Mother's Day and Daddy's birthday 2012!!!  Charlie had to preach the morning of Mother's Day and his birthday.  After church, we went to Elijah's for a nice brunch!

The kids chose "smelly" lotion, a necklace (Eliza) and
a "gift card to mom's favorite store" (Jackson) as gifts for Mother's Day.
What excellent ideas!

Sweet boy!

A Daddy's birthday wouldn't be complete without a Fruit Loop card and an M&M ice cream cake.

Eliza participated in her first dance recital this May. She had a BLAST! and looked like she may have been one of the leaders of the pack. The entire recital was AMAZING!!! It was a circus theme, and all the children did such a GREAT job. They performed on "the big stage" as Eliza told me, and a big stage it was! In my 30's, I would've been intimidated!!!

"Hey, Hey, we're the Monkeys"

The girls are waiting their turn at the dress rehearsal.

Dancing...

All the monkeys....

There's always flowers for the recital finale.  These flowers were on the...um...tacky side, but our little monkey LOVED them!

Jackson holds the flowers until we meet up with Eliza.

Ms. Gretchen taught Eliza everything she knows!

I can't believe another preschool year has come and gone!  Time sure is FLYING!  Eliza finished up her 3 year old year.  The last couple days of school, the class celebrated the summer birthdays.  So, Eliza was able to celebrate on the very last day of school.  To say Eliza was "excited" was the understatment of the century!!!! (and luckily, she "allowed" me to attend....)

Sad face because "it's the last day of school."

First day of Eliza's 3 year old year, Sept 2011.

How much she's grown!

Silly picture Sept 2011.

Another silly picture

"Reading" the E book to the class.

Not quite 4 years old, but for today, she is!
As Eliza said, "It's not my real birthday, just my pretend one."

Donuts with sprinkles!  Best parents everrrRRRR!!!!

Memorial Day 2012.  We spent the long weekend at the beach house.  The water was cold and there was a tropical storm off the coast.  The weather was great, but the water was rough.  On Sunday and Monday, we couldn't go in past our knees because of the undertow.  The kids still had a great time and Charlie and I had some relaxation!

Let's pause for a brief pose before heading out to the beach.

They don't mind that the water is FREEZING!

Beach Bums!

What a fun, busy month of May we've had.  Now it's SUMMER TIME!!!
